The Spiny Lobster is your own, local seafood restaurant, owned by us, the team, to share the food we love with people who think the same. We’ve been on Whiteladies Road for 18 years with a restaurant and fishmonger and a great loyal following locally and from visitors to Bristol and to Clifton.
The Spiny Lobster offers a wide ranging, daily menu, designed for lovers of the best seafood and meats; we specialise in cooking over the open fire of our Josper grill, adding a distinct flavour to our food, cooking at over 350 degrees on charcoal, and searing in the flavour and the freshness of the fish.

Spotted whilst driving through looking for somewhere to eat – looked appealing and fancied fish. Lovely staff really friendly, welcoming room with open plan kitchen, simple menu and really well cooked plates of food. Would love to have something like this in our neighbourhood! (March 2022)

Visited with my wife and daughter for her birthday. Great atmosphere and felt nice and welcoming, we really liked the layout of the restaurant. Staff were amazing and made it a great experience. Food was on another level, basically awesome. We have eaten at many seafood restaurants before and this one is a keeper. Will return had a great time. Kudos to the chefs. (January, 2022)

Great service in unpretentious surroundings of this lovely seafood restaurant.
Focaccia to start was fresh and light which was followed by scallops and cuttlefish as first course.
We shared the crab on ice and sea bass as mains both of which were excellent accompanied by new potatoes and patron peppers.
Salted caramel ice cream and cheese selection with brandy finished off an excellent meal. (December 2021)
